The emerging fashion week designers to watch this season

When we think of fashion week, it's the big names that naturally come to mind. From Gucci to Prada, we all yearn to see what the decades-old fashion houses will bring to the runway. But fashion week is also a fantastic opportunity to discover our next favourite designer. Each year, many new names emerge on the runways in every fashion capital from Paris to London. In case you haven’t had a chance to find them for yourself, here are Liberty Belle’s top picks for the emerging designers to keep an eye on this season.

Abigail Ajobi

Debuting her work in both Paris and London, designer Abigail Ajobi is a British designer who aims to create luxury streetwear ‘with a purpose’. That purpose being the ability to provide stylish pieces without causing harm to the planet. Unlike many fashion retailers, Ajobi only uses deadstock material to create her pieces and dedicates a percentage of the profits made on each of her garments to charity.

Ajobi’s work is unlike anything the fashion industry has seen before. Instead of producing single-wear pieces that you’ll throw out after you’ve overworn them, the garments Ajobi produces are often two-in-one, so you can wear them in multiple ways without getting bored.

Temperley London

The world of Temperley is a world that British Vogue deemed ‘so seductive, so magical, you can’t help wanting to be part of its sepia-toned wonderfulness the moment you enter it.’

Priding itself on its sequin-drencheed designs, Temperley London is a UK based brand that puts glamour at the centre of every design it produces. Established by Alice Temperley in the early noughties, the brand has seen its biggest rise in the past few years, and this fashion week was no different. Debuting glitter-embellished, lengthy gowns on their spring 2023 runway, Temperley is the label to watch this season.

Paula Canovas del Vas

Worn by big names like singer Rosalia in recent months, Spanish designer Paula Canovas del Vas is bringing fun back to fashion. Debuting her winter 2023/24 collection in Paris this season, the designer made the quirky decision to cover her model’s faces with woolen balaclavas. Perfect for the winter months, the mysterious accessory was complemented with bright mesh gowns and brash hair colours to enhance the show’s vibrant, futuristic vibe.
