The best places to eat in Sheffield

Updated: Oct 4, 2023

A cute lunch spot - Marmadukes

The perfect place for catching up with friends over hearty lunch food and delicious coffee. Marmadukes has three different locations in Sheffield, Norfolk Row, Cambridge Street and The Sorting Office, where all of their amazing bread is baked. The cafe has inventive menus that often have twists on classic brunch dishes like shakshuka or avocado on toast, including a range of seasonal salads that vary every few months.

For when you just can’t decide what to eat - Cutlery Works

Cutlery Works in Kelham Island is the best place for bringing a large group of people who can’t decide what they want to eat or for sharing dishes with your mates. The site in Kelham Island is home to tons of different vendors, so if you’re in the mood for pizza you could go to Little Dough, while your friend goes for Indian food at Ma-Ba. Who is to say you can’t share a roll from Edo Sushi while you’re at it?

For cocktails and good food - Terrace Goods

Right in the heart of the city is Terrace Goods, serving up 3-for-£3 tacos, a variety of sliders, and pizza by the slice. If those prices aren’t enough to wow you, they also serve up all of the classic cocktails as well as some of their own delicious creations like a coconut and aperol margarita. They also have a bottomless brunch menu and sometimes a Thursday night quiz.

For a fancy dinner - Nonnas

Located on Ecclesall Road is Nonnas, a great spot for when you are looking for somewhere a bit fancier than normal. Many people think it is the best Italian in Sheffield and there truly is no better way to treat yourself than having a big bowl of truffle and mushroom risotto. Although this restaurant comes in at a slightly higher price point than some Italian restaurants in Sheffield, I can vouch that it is definitely worth it.

Hidden Gem - Greedy Greek Deli

My hidden gem nomination is Greedy Greek Deli. Located on Sharrow Vale Road this deli serves up the best gyros in the whole of Sheffield (and it’s pretty cheap). My personal recommendations are the halloumi and veg gyros and the rosemary potatoes. Unfortunately you can’t sit in here, but there are tables outside where you can watch the hustle and bustle of Sharrow Vale. Or you could nip over the road to Endcliffe Park and have a gyros picnic on the grass there.
