As the end of term closes in, students everywhere are beginning to look for their perfect Christmas ball outfit.

Whether you’re searching for your perfect ball gown, a Y2K style slip dress or a striking suit, this guide will give you all the ideas you need.

The classic ball gown

For those who prefer a timeless look, a classic ball gown silhouette is probably what you’re looking for.

Finding a gown with a fun twist is a great way to uplift the look of a classic maxi dress.

Have your 'How to loose a guy in 10 days' moment in this gorgeous gown from NA-KD.

This gorgeous green-moment can also be found on NA-KD.

Make it Y2K

If you want your look to reference the always-iconic early 2000’s, or you love vintage clothing, Depop is where you want to be looking for your Christmas ball outfit.

Just by searching ‘vintage maxi dresses’ or ‘Y2K ballgowns’ you’ll find a variation of fairy-like gowns, but here’s a look at some of the best on there at the moment.

This gorgeous Jane Norman gown can be found on Depop under seller @belrose.

This Y2K dream gown, from Karen Millen, can be found under Depop seller @xxalycatxx.

Boho-chic ball gowns

Maybe you prefer to veer from the look of the classic ballgown, or even a Y2K style gown. If so, Free People has a variety of looks for those who want to dress-down when they’re dressing up.

Florals? In Winter? Ground breaking. This gorgeous green Free People gown is one for those with a bit of a bigger budget.

This Christmas red Free People dress will leave you feeling festive.

Stylish suits

Wanting to make more of a statement? Or maybe a dress is just not your style? That’s understandable.

ASOS is the place to look if you’re wanting a suit that is sure to make some heads turn.

If you're going for a more toned-down look, or you're on slightly more of a budget, this ASOS suit might be the one for you.

This unisex suit by ASOS may be slightly on the pricey side but doesn't that burnt orange make it worth it!
