How to style shackets

Though autumn sees the return of cosy jumper season, the varying temperatures leave us to question: to coat or not to coat? However shackets, the perfect transitional piece, are here to save us. This shirt and jacket combo is versatile and comes in many different varieties, so one will undoubtedly catch your eye.

Leather jackets are a staple in many people's wardrobes. However, this year the familiar aviator shape has been swapped out for a blazer cut. With its new, more structured fit, it could be the perfect piece to style with those floral dresses you were about to pack away until next summer. Unlike previous seasons, leather is no longer exclusively black or brown. The high street is flooded with coloured leather shackets that can elevate even a simple jean and t-shirt outfit, giving it a little edge and keeping you up to date with the current trends.

Another style to explore is the corduroy shacket. Due to its slouchier fit, they look great layered over hoodies and high neck tops. If you are feeling brave enough to brace the colder weather, try pairing it with some chunky boots, cycling shorts and a hoodie. Depending on the colour and structure, they could be a great way to achieve an off-duty model look.  

Why not add a blazer to your wardrobe? You may feel intimidated by the thought of wearing this structured, powerful silhouette on a daily basis. However, if you pair it with an elegant item, such as a midi-dress or a silk skirt, it will soften the office wear connotations whilst also making your outfit look á la mode. A more casual alternative is to style it with a turtleneck and some layered jewellery. Paired with jeans and boots, this outfit will have you feeling on top of your game.
