Fall in love with these Autumn accessories

Autumn is one of the high points of the fashion calendar as layering starts trending and long coats return from the dark corners of our wardrobes. As the colder weather creeps in, many of us find ourselves wanting to keep the strong momentum of summer accessorizing, which, this year, was filled with chunky jewellery and bold patterns. To fuel your fashion cravings here’s a list of essential accessories to keep you stylish and warm this winter season.

Knee-high Boots

As a response to the colourful platformed boots of the summer, many have transitioned to a slightly more muted, but similar look for the colder months. As worn by fashion icons such as Kendall Jenner, the classic boots are back and can be styled with anything from a staple trench coat to a flirty mini skirt.

Faux-leather Blazers

In an effort to channel our inner Lorelai Gilmore, faux-leather blazers are the jacket of choice this winter. Although the black jackets of last year remain in our hearts, the cosy browns which reflect autumn weather, lead this year’s trends. As highlighted by Vogue France brown is in, and what better way to embrace it than by a jacket that represents the timeless style.

Sheer Patterned Tights

As an item that was last popularized by the stars of Gossip Girl, sheer patterned tights have crept back onto shelves and into our draws. They can be worn with your favourite skirt for a more traditional style or under ripped jeans to add an edginess to your look.

As hat and scarf season returns and gold jewellery is in high demand, I have narrowed down the best places to purchase these classic accessories.

Hats

Although the sun is now slowly disappearing, I cannot bring myself to say goodbye to the beloved bucket hat and so I have turned to the slightly more appropriate fluffy bucket hat!

Urban Outfitters is the shop of choice for this item with a respectable selection of hats that are both practical and fun.

Scarves

Oh, the scarf! A versatile accessory that can be worn almost anywhere and everywhere, but when it gets cold, I like one that engulfs me like an oversized collar so that only my eyes are visible, and my nose is protected from the crisp British mornings.

NA-KD is the place to go for this winter essential, whether you want an oversized woollen scarf or a decorative silk one that can double as a cute hairband.

Gold Jewellery

Gold jewellery is the perfect accessory to pair with the muted tones of autumn. From statement earrings to subtle necklaces, gold jewellery is a staple for this season.

Safira Negra is one of the best places to purchase such pieces. A UK-based brand that designs jewellery that is hypoallergenic, gorgeous and compliments all skin tones.
