The best shows on Netflix to watch throughout the February lockdown

With all of this time being spent at home, films and TV shows have been relied upon more than ever. This means that many of us feel as though we’ve watched the entirety of Netflix by this point.

Here are some of my favourite shows on Netflix that I wish I could watch for the first time again!

Bridgerton

This show has recently hit the streaming site by storm and if you haven't seen it yet, get on it! Acting as a Gossip Girl inspired period drama (please note the lack of historical accuracy, however), the show follows a 'mating' season in 18th Century England.

The Queen’s Gambit

Another show recently brought to our attention on Netflix, it follows the life of Beth, an orphan who learnt the skilled game of Chess. The show explains how she becomes established in competitions around the world.

Outer Banks

A teen drama perfect for binge watching, the show takes place in the outer banks of North Carolina and follows a group of teens called the “Pogues”. It includes drama and romance throughout as the teens discover what happened to John B, a group member's father.

The Good Place

This comedic show is about a woman, Eleanor, finding herself in “The Good Place” (which is the equivalent to heaven in the after life) even though she led a morally corrupt life. Instead of being honest and being sent to “The bad Place,” she wants to learn how to be good.

Jane the Virgin

Inspired by Latin American Telenovelas, Jane becomes pregnant after being accidentally artificially inseminated when going for a smear test. The show is packed with romance and drama all told by a witty narrator and with five seasons available to watch on Netflix, there is plenty of content to enjoy.

Poldark

Another period drama set in the 18th Century, we see how Ross Poldark adapts to being back in Cornwall after returning from the war in America. The best part about this show is the raw and real romance with his wife, Demelza. The show includes beautiful shots of the beaches and cliff tops which will make you want to visit Cornwall and see them for yourself!
