The average student budget tends not to leave much room left for splurging on the likes of Dior and Charlotte Tilbury, but that does not mean the quality of your products should suffer as a result. Here is a list of a couple of the best drugstore dupes for those high end classics so you can save without sacrificing.
Instead of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter (£39, ASOS), opt for the e.l.f Halo Glow Liquid Filter (£14, Boots).
Both have rave reviews online and claim to boost your complexion adding a radiant glow under your base makeup. Reviews of the Halo Liquid Glow Filter point out how for the price, the quality and quantity of the product is ‘outstanding’. The only downside is, whilst Hollywood Flawless Filter comes in 12 shades, the Halo Glow Liquid Filter only has a shade range of eight.
If you want an alternative to the infamous NARS cosmetics Orgasm Blush (£22, LookFantastic), look no further than the Sleek Makeup Face Form Blush (£4.99, Boots).
Both have rave reviews talking about the beautiful colours on offer, with particular mention to Sleeks shade ‘Like a Snack’. The only thing reviews do say is that the Sleek blush requires slightly more blending to work the product into the skin than the NARS one, but considering the price you can’t complain.
Instead of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer (£27, Tarte), why don’t you try out the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer (£8.99, Boots).
For a third of the price, you can get a concealer with a much loved silky consistency which instantly hides any pesky eye bags with ease. Now neither have the most impressive shade ranges, but Maybelline is noticeably better than Tarte on that front as well.
The cult classic Too Faced Better than Sex mascara (£20, Boots) can be unnoticeably swapped out for the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara (£13.99, Boots).
Both claim to curl, length and add oomps of volume to your lashes, but one is half the price of the other. The L’Oreal Lash paradise also comes with the added benefit of infused castor oil so it will simultaneously care for your lashes whilst making them look their best without breaking the bank.
If you need to save some pennies, swap the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb (£15, Boots) for Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lip Gloss (£7.99, Boots).
The much beloved Gloss Bomb has been described as ‘indistinguishable’ from the Revlon alternative when they are on the lips and both come in an array of beautiful shades. Whilst reviews do say the Revlon gloss is not as pigmented as the Fenty gloss, they do say it has a less sticky consistency which many prefer.
Remember, more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better!
