The best beauty advent calendars for this Christmas

With the nights drawing in and the weather getting colder, we can officially start talking about Christmas. As the festivities start brewing, it’s time to get the tree out of the loft and start decorating your house in reels of fairy lights.

Time to get present planning and, most excitingly, time to buy your advent calendar.

Beauty advent calendars can be a great way of killing two birds with one stone; a present and advent calendar in one. Finding a new lipstick or face mask behind every door is a significant step up from a chocolate snowman.

However, it can be difficult to establish if the products are genuinely worth the normally quite steep price tags.

Here is an honest review of what I believe are the best beauty advent calendars on the market right now, which won’t break the bank too much.

Price: £45, but for the black Friday weekend, you can get it for £27 from ASOS!

Revolution has long been a trusted, affordable drugstore makeup brand and they certainly have not missed the mark with their advent calendar this year. You will get 25 products worth a total of £94 which will provide an exciting countdown to Christmas. It even includes a 12-pan full-sized eye shadow palette, with gorgeous bronze and pink shades. Definitely one for makeup lovers rather than skincare lovers. Budget-friendly with wearable shades and worth the price; what isn’t to love.

Price: £45

Another staple drugstore brand that has an impressive advent calendar for 2022 is NYX. Whilst only offering 12 products rather than 25, this one may seem on the surface as not being good value for money, however, when we consider that NYX isn’t the cheapest drugstore brand but is known to offer high-quality products, there is a strong argument which suggests otherwise.

You will get a myriad of products, including the cult favourite setting sprays and butter glosses, and importantly again in wearable shades. It is definitely one to keep your eye on.

Price: £33.70

Next, we have Sephora in the UK and by the look of their advent calendar, it has been long worth the wait. Worth £85 this one has something for everyone, with makeup products, skincare products and even bath accessories. It offers 24 own-brand products which will be a great way for us Brits to see what we have been missing out on for all these years. As Sephora is so new in the UK, it is difficult to judge the quality of the products but on a surface level, it looks like it would be worth a try and worth the price.

Price: £95, however for the black Friday weekend you can get it for £75!

Despite costing significantly more than the others on this list, I couldn’t leave the LookFantastic calendar out. This offers 26 surprise beauty gifts behind 25 doors and is worth a whopping £500. There is an extensive range of products all from beloved well-known brands such as The Ordinary, By Terry and Elemis, just to name a few. There is even a Rituals mini reed diffuser behind one of the doors. I think the skincare and beauty tools are slightly more exciting than the makeup products you get from this one, but I do believe this is worth the price tag when you consider what you will end up with on Christmas day, despite being the most expensive on this list.
