Self-Care During Valentine's Season

Everybody say love! With Valentine's season coming to a head, self-worship has never been a more vital part of the end-of-day routine. Granted, being wined and dined pasta and lobster style by your special someone is nothing short of a sensational way to spend the holiday, but practising peace of mind, channelling energy into a divine state of being and basking in your own company should be just as valued.


To be my own Valentine I turn to the powers of TK Max's beauty shelf products that I have tried and tested over the years. For those with a mind that never stops running, the Sanctuary Spa CBD-infused body oil is a holy grail - apply it to the skin before taking that unwind shower or bath and it transforms the steam into a sauna of dreams. I personally always take it to the pulse points, the temples and inside of the wrists, to have that lasting serenity. 


To enhance the spa-level self-care, play some frequency tones in the background for all the rejuvenated feels. Personally, I am such a fanatic for small business products, the ‘Little Pot of Magic’ by Bartram's Botanical Remedies falls no short. Infused with peppermint and lavender oil, it is the perfect mental refresher balm I reach for when my energy is feeling down or overwhelmed, as it naturally can do coming up to Valentine’s. 


One activity I endlessly advocate for working through any life ordeal is writing. Whether that be journaling, bullet journaling, or poetry, whatever format you choose is, without doubt, one of the most effective and healthy ways of processing and relieving tension I have found yet - perfect if you're on a self-healing journey this Valentine’s. 


Also, I've realised platonic love can be the most fulfilling and impactful form of love, not to entirely steal the words of Hugh Grant but love is actually all around. Stepping back from your own tunnel vision of what love should be is when you realise how valued you are on the planet. Without a doubt this is an integral part of my Valentine’s Day pamper routine, keeping the mind healthy keeps the soul youthful. 


In all candour Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ also makes a yearly appearance to dance around my bedroom to rom-com style, but with so much less grace. Galentine’s has spearheaded a lot of the season's culture and I'm so on board for it; spending time with your platonic soulmates is such a bonding and cherished experience of mine. Bringing a themed platter or buying each other flowers and chatting the night away is the absolute perfect activity for Valentine’s season for those in and out of relationships alike. 


Love is a fundamental part of our little existence, but inner love and stability are key. You must feed your mind positive mantras, try out some new self-care products, call your loved ones in any sense of the word and take the time to truly adore yourself as you are the best love you will ever have. Value and appreciate yourself and that energy will always attract just what you deserve back.
