LIVE REVIEW: The HARA

Small TikTok band The HARA took to the iconic Leadmill 2 stage on Friday night as part of their We All Wear Black tour and to no surprise, this was a sell-out event.

I came to this show having never heard the support acts' music and I was pleasantly surprised by their impressive levels of talent and energy. I am going to say the word energy a lot because that is purely what was there was from start to finish, with every act and every song.

The first support act was The Hydeout, a small local band with lead vocals by Joel Arthur. His talent was unbelievable. I didn't go into the gig as a fan of his, but I certainly left as one.

We then heard Jason Allan who did not fail to warm up the crowd for the main act. He had everyone laughing and dancing - it's always great to see a band that has as much fun as the people in attendance.

Now to The HARA. I have seen them recommended on my social media more times than I can count, whether this consists of their post-lockdown song covers or, more recently, their video transitions promoting their new EP We All Wear Black, which has hit number three in the rock and metal charts.

So, I knew before coming to this gig the energy and enthusiasm would be ecstatic and unmatched, and I was proven right.

The HARA started with some of their various older songs before going into their We All Wear Black EP.

I have to admit, I didn't know many of their older songs. However, that did not stop me from enjoying the energy, talent, and environment while they performed in such an iconic venue. Their songs were so full of life and movement, it would be impossible not to have a brilliant time. Especially when you have the lead singer (Josh Taylor) take to the bar. I don't mean for a drink; I mean actually running up and down it before coming into the crowd to start a mosh pit.

You can tell The HARA are such a close-knit group and their joy spread throughout the entire room. Seeing talent like this shows me why we can't lose the Leadmill. All the bands chanted and urged everyone to sign the petition and I am urging you now to do the same as talent such as this deserves to be showcased - and what better place to do so than the ICONIC Leadmill.
