Galentines Day D.I.Y Gift Basket Ideas.

Updated: Feb 8, 2021

No date this year for valentines day? That's alright! You can chalk it up the lockdowns and the global pandemic we're still under. Pushing that aside, you don't need a 'special someone' to enjoy this day, instead you can indulge it with the wonderful women in your life.

Galentine's day is a pre-Valentine's Day celebration to admire your coworkers, friends, sisters, cousins, etc. Basically, all the non-romantic relationships that mean the most to you in your life.

One of the best ways to celebrate Galentine's is to shower your friends with personally crafted gift baskets. Here are some ideas of what you can add to those gift sets!!!

  • The basics: To start off, you'll need a cute little hamper basket in a design you find appropriate. Alternatively, gift boxes with some coloured tissue papers, crinkle cut shredded fillers (think in shades of reds, pinks and maroons) should do the trick to add to the glam. Don't forget the necessary items like a box of chocolates, a cute card, maybe even some adorable photographs. You could even dazzle it up with a souvenir such as a keychain with a photo in it.

  • Think relaxation: Planning on having a quiet night in? You can opt for a night of self-care—Drop-in some face masks, essential oils, stress-relieving mandalas to colour etc. You can take it up a notch with, shower/bath sets- bath salts, shower gels, bath bombs, and scented lotions.

  • Think hungry: You can never go wrong with adding some snacks to your basket. Feeling a little generous, maybe add a mini bottle of your friends' favourite drink or some fizzy sodas (age limit!). Throw in some small packets of their favourite snacks- chocolate pretzels, marshmallows. Even adding in their favourite tea bags is perfect.

  • Think glam: Thinking of getting all glammed up for a night indoors? (*sigh* the lockdown). Pop in some glosses, matte lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes and remember to keep in touch with the 'valentines' day theme shades. Nail polishes are a great idea since they are small, compact, and the soft shades can really enhance the box. Speaking of small and compact, a tiny bottle of perfume too, can luxuriate your gift box. You can even pop in some elegant jewellery pieces- a charm bracelet, a pendant etc. Hair accessories work too!

  • Think comfort: Don't plan on dolling up? How about throwing in some sleeping eye masks, cosy socks, a squishy soft toy or even a book to seek comfort in. You could also add in some scented candles or even aromatic incenses.

  • Maybe…think luxury: If you're willing and, depending on the relationship (and your budget), you could splurge on some high ended products too. Stores like Pandora and Swarovski are great for those considering to invest in quality jewellery at a slightly increased price. They also showcase some great valentines day themed pieces. Charlotte Tilbury, Mac Cosmetics, Thorntons Chocolates, Dior, Slip Beauty are some brands that you could also browse through for some pretty glamorous (and pricey) ideas.

These are just a few ideas that can guide you towards creating the perfect basket. You can play around, min' n match the suggestions to form an ideal basket perfect for your loved ones.

Have a great Valentines day!♥️ Stay safe and Take care
