Top note. Base notes. Key notes. Fragrance jargon is at an all time high as we approach the Christmas season. For mums, sisters and best friends alike, perfume makes for a great gift, guaranteed to evoke joy on Christmas morning. From high street to luxury, here’s the 411 on what you (and your girlfriends!) should be spritzing this winter.

Glossier You Eau de Parfum

From £34

Glossier’s most recent release is marketed as ‘the ultimate personal fragrance’, owing to the skin-scent enhancement technology which makes it smell slightly different on everyone. Pink pepper and iris make for a subtly sweet and warm scent and the perfect pink packaging is well on its way to becoming an icon in the fragrance world.

Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne

From £55

This quintessential English cologne is the ultimate sophisticated autumnal scent. With key notes of floral white freesia and the most stunning ‘clean-girl’ bottle what’s not to love. As a unisex scent, this cologne has established itself as the perfect gifting choice for any and all members of the family.

Zara Red Temptation Winter

From £12.99

Is it okay to throw a dupe into the mix? An alternative to the rather pricey Baccarat Rouge, Zara’s Winter Red Temptation has become a much loved TikTok suggestion. Deep and intense, yet not overpowering, due to the perfected balance of fruity orange and floral notes. This perfume is seductive and passionate in all the right ways.

Kayali Vanilla 28

From £28

More than just a pretty bottle, Kayali adds a touch of sophistication and luxury to any bedside table. The vanilla is rich, with hints of tonka and brown sugar, making for a great transitional scent that lasts from Autumn to Winter through to Spring. It has become a popular choice for layering alongside other scents - the ultimate investment.

Kylie Jenner Cosmic Eau du Parfum

From £34

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll be well aware of the perfume on every influencer’s list. Sweet, warm and elevated. Kylie Jenner’s inaugural fragrance, with base notes of vanilla musk and cedarwood is a great choice for any occasion, lasting during the day through to night.
